Configurator

Pontoon configurator — parts and price in seconds

Enter the length and width of your pontoon — jetski dock, boat mooring, swim platform or floating jetty. The configurator instantly shows how many floats, coupling pins, bolts and washers you need — with the price and a top-down preview.

Where the numbers come from

The configurator follows the same scheme Dock Discounter uses to assemble its complete kits. We cross-checked the formulas against the published parts lists of 16 ready-made kits — from 1.5 × 4 m to 4 × 10 m — and all 112 individual values match.

The grid is 0.5 metres: a pontoon of L × W metres occupies (2 × L) by (2 × W) grid cells. Coupling pins sit at interior nodes, bolts along the edge, washers lengthwise. Whole-metre widths use U-floats, half-metre widths use V-floats.

The materials price is the sum of the individual parts without tools. Complete kits also include a rubber mallet and pin spanner worth €53.25 — and still cost around 7 to 9 % less than the sum of the parts. Wherever a size exists as a kit, the kit is the cheaper route.

Frequently asked questions

Accurate. The formulas are cross-checked against the published parts lists of 16 ready-made kits — 112 individual values, not one deviation. The basis is a 0.5 metre grid: a pontoon of L × W metres occupies (2 × L) by (2 × W) cells, and floats, pins, bolts and rings follow from that.

The material prices are Dock Discounter's current list prices and therefore reliable. It becomes binding with the quote, because freight from Rotterdam depends on quantity and destination and cannot be generalised. All prices are net; the switch for gross figures sits above every table.

Length and width in steps of 0.5 metres, matching the grid of the floats. Width decides the build: 2, 3 or 4 metres give U-floats, 1.5 or 2.5 metres the smaller V-floats. The configurator works both out automatically, so you do not need to know which is which.

Where the size exists as a complete kit, the kit is cheaper — for most sizes between 6 and 9 per cent against the sum of the individual parts, and the rubber mallet and pin spanner are already included. The configurator pays off for any size not available as a kit, and for extending an existing dock.
